Kids Running Towards the Olympics
Project No: 101090424

About the Project
The Olympic Games are not just sporting events but also one of human history’s most deeply rooted traditions. The Olympic spirit embodies values such as friendship, excellence, and respect. However, disadvantaged children often lack access to these global sporting events due to economic, social, or geographical barriers. Introducing them to Olympic values and sports culture at an early age can significantly contribute to their personal development and social integration. In this context, the OlympicKids Project aims to provide disadvantaged children and youth with knowledge about the history of the Olympic Games, promote the Olympic spirit, and support their social inclusion through sports.
General Objectives:
Promote the Olympic Spirit and Values: Teach children and young people the core Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect. Introduce them to the Olympic sports culture, encouraging them to participate in sports.
Introduce the History of the Olympic Games: Educate children on the evolution of the Olympic Games, from ancient times to the modern era. Inspire them with stories of Olympic champions and remarkable sporting achievements.
Provide Disadvantaged Children with an Olympic Experience: Offer opportunities for children from underprivileged backgrounds to engage with international sporting events. Allow them to meet athletes and coaches, giving them a firsthand experience of the Olympic spirit.
Encourage Participation in Athletics and Olympic Sports: Provide practical training in athletics and other fundamental Olympic sports. Promote physical activity as a means of adopting a healthy lifestyle.
Foster International Cooperation and Cultural Exchange: Bring together children and youth from different countries through sports events, fostering cultural understanding. Organize international camps, seminars, and sports festivals to encourage mutual learning and collaboration.
